Why Excellence Matters in the Church

While each church has a unique vision for their own community, there are some common goals: Fulfill the Great Commission, advance the Kingdom through the clear presentation of the Gospel, and help people develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

How do we incorporate these goals into our roles as Church Tech Leaders?

Too often, it can be easy to chase the latest technological trend or to imply (or even demand) an expectation of perfection amongst our teams; however, what we should truly strive towards is the Biblical concept of Excellence.

1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” We are called to pursue excellence.

As fallible beings, we understand that earthly perfection is unattainable, but we embrace the constant pursuit of Excellence. Whether running a service, installing gear or simply cleaning up the booth, we recognize that excellence matters. This means that we look for ways to make things better. We look for ways to provide help. We look for ways to educate others. We look for opportunities to be a witness and testimony to the love of Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the entrance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

What can I do to create a Culture of Excellece?

Tangibly, you can invest time into identifying systems and processes that can be improved. Or perhaps you can ask for feedback from a new church attendee so that you can gain a fresh perspective. Is the vision you, your team and your church are trying to communicate being received as intended, or is something lost in translation?

You may discover that a game-changing piece of the technology puzzle is missing altogether. Or you may even find that you have systems already in place that are simply underutilized. Either way, the goal is still simple: Are we presenting the message with Excellence? What steps can we take in order to improve?

At MediaMerge, excellence is a passion. During projects, we anticipate questions and dedicate time to educating everyone throughout the process. We look for potential challenges down the road and provide insight and recommendations to help avoid issues. We strive not only to provide a quality product, but we believe that excellence is also demonstrated through long-term personal relationships as well. We want to celebrate the wins alongside you, help identify solutions to challenges that may pop up, and be a listening ear and source of support when life happens and things go beyond your control.

That is the type of relationship we want with you and your team as well.
